Gravity Between Feathers

Text-based research project (2025–ongoing)

Gravity Between Feathers is an ongoing text-based research project examining gravity, perception, and more-than-human orientation through long-term cohabitation with an African Grey parrot. Developed through observation, speculative writing, and cosmological inquiry, the project approaches gravity not only as a physical force but as a relational condition shaping attention, balance, and presence.

Moving between personal experience, scientific research, and planetary thinking, the text investigates how nonhuman beings perceive spatial and atmospheric forces beyond human-centred frameworks. It considers stillness, recovery, and orientation as forms of embodied knowledge, situating everyday gestures within broader ecological and cosmic systems.

The project functions as a conceptual platform for subsequent moving-image and installation works, including Bodies of Force, and will be published by Te Magazine in 2026.
